Italian/Pizza

 

  • Terra Nova. high quality Italian food for a very good price. Consequently, it's hard to get a table here without reservation. an old-time favorite is the Lasagne (6 Euro), but the specials menu is always worth a look, too. Tip: have a wine in the wine bar just across the street. Eckenheimer Landstrasse 67, 069-5979-7019.

 

Persian

 

  • Shandis, near FH. The food is good, although the best part is the excellent appetizer platter (8/15 Euro). Have a cocktail afterwards in the bar next door.

 

German/Local

 

  • Buchwald, in Bornheim. Traditional food and apple cider (Apfelwein). Try their famous Kraut Lasagna with Liversausage Sauce (7 Euro) - simply amazing! Here's a review (German). Buchwaldstraße 22a, 069-4600-3272.

  • Feinstaub. Only been there once.

 

Theme Bars

 

  • Shischandis, near FH. Nice Persinan atmosphere. Enjoy a shisha (7 Euro) with your cocktail (7-9 Euro). The Long Island Iced Tea is made with limes and tasted pretty bad, though. Order it with lemon instead. Tip: have dinner in the restaurant next door. However, several dishes are served here, too.

 

Recommended but Untested

 

  • Pravda, near Konstabler Wache. More than 150 kinds of Vodka (4cl for 4-14 Euro), plus traditional Russian food (the Borscht has been recommended, 4.50) including caviar. Also a wide variety of cocktails (~7.50). Rosenberger Strasse 4, 069-6786-6870.
